How long have you been in business?
Barrick Photography has been in business since 1989. we started in Charlottesville, VA and moved to the Washington metro area in 1990. Barrick Photography has been working in the Washington area for 23 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Barrick Photography is a commercial editorial photography business that specializes in photographing people for use in publication. We have a full service photographic business that provides images for magazines, web content, annual reports, company identity, news service and editorial images as well as family portraits, sports team photography, school portraits and event photography.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
For my high school graduation I received an SLR camera. From then on I had a passion for photography. Later I became seriously interested in becoming a professional photographer while attending college at Radford University. I was the assistant to the university's photographer and knew that photography was the career for me. It is wonderful to wake up every day and realize that there something more to see and photograph, everywhere I go.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I have had the rare privilege of photographing some of the worlds most prolific individuals from politics to sports and entertainment. My ability to adapt to any environment is key. But perhaps my greatest strength is my ability to understand my client's needs and interact with my subjects with ease. You are introduced as strangers but leave as friends.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
My studio is anywhere I need to be. I have no boundaries nor limitations.
