How long have you been in business?
Dan Kain Trophies, Inc. has been in business since 1961. After nearly 50 years in Arlington, VA., our shop had to relocate to Fairfax, VA. Economically, it became harder to maintain operations with skyrocketing rent,and a down turning economy. We have survived the recession and although we miss our Arlington location, we have enjoyed the many new clients and relationships built since moving here in 2010. We look forward to expanding our clientele in the Fairfax region as well as continuing to serve our loyal customers in the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas.
What is your primary product or service?
Our products include trophies, plaques, crystal, acrylic, gifts and custom awards. We pride ourselves on the very best customer service, state of the art products and speedy turnaround time. We offer competitive prices and are always willing to work within a customer's budget. No order is too big or small and we encourage anyone who needs to supply an award of recognition, to come by our shop or visit our website.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Owner, James Preziotti, started working for Mr. Dan Kain in 1961 as a trophy maker. He grew through the ranks of the business and became owner in 1982. Today, Jim still owns the business but relies heavily on his two long time employees, Larry Grandy and Joe Smith. Together they bring over 50 years of experience in the awards industry. Being a small business with employee longevity, says something about the company and it's employees.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We continually provide excellent customer service, which these days, is a lost art. In the world of internet trophy and award shops, it becomes difficult to compete. But the one thing I always tell my customer's is "Buyer Beware". You can be assured that every item purchased from Dan Kain Trophies is of high quality, engraved with superior craftsmanship and guaranteed customer satisfaction or we make it right.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently, we have only one location. Future plans could include expanding, but want to be able to service the clients we have without losing focus on their needs. Customer's are our number one priority.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are located at 8306 Hilltop Road in Merrifield. Off of Lee Highway, one block west of the Gallows Road Lee Highway intersection. Turn onto Hilltop Road - Turn onto Door Ave. - Immediate right into the parking lot - stay to the right in the lot and follow to the front of the store.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards including debit, checks and cash.
Which areas do you service?
We mostly service Maryland, DC and Virginia. But we ship all over the country.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
James Preziotti owns the company and daily operations are handled by Larry Grandy and Joe Smith
What are your hours of operation?
Hours of operation are M-F :00AM - 5:30PM and Sat. 10:00AM - 1:00PM If you need to come in before hours, someone is always here by 7:00AM and will let you in.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment we can get, is that the product we produced, made that recipient feel appreciated, encouraged, confident and loved. What we provide is a beautiful symbol of recognition that is the basis and the customer does the rest with their inscription. Beautiful inscriptions last a lifetime. And to some, that can be a life changer!
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
One of my favorite quotes is the Golden Rule. This quote can be applied to anything in life. Matthew 7:12 - "So in everything, do unto others what you would have them do to you". Treat your customers as you want to be treated!
